Saks is the UK’s leading hair and beauty franchise group with an award winning international network of salons and training academies.
The group’s flagship salon in Covent Garden is home to British Hairdresser of the Year Nominee 2003-2005 and resident hair expert on hit make-over show 10 Years Younger, Andrew Barton.

A comprehensive range of services for men and women is offered throughout Saks salons nationwide. Saks has its own brand of professional styling tools, Saksessories, and these, plus Saks gift vouchers are available in salons and online.

Client Requirements
Saks already had an online presence and wanted to introduce an ecommerce element to their website. As part of this Saks wanted a full overhaul of their website to include:

• development of a new content managed main site
• development of a Microsites to be developed for all UK salons
• eCommerce solution
• specific site for Saks Education to provide E-Learning

The solution
Yuzu have designed and developed a bespoke Content Management System for use by Saks. The solution allows the team at Saks HQ to modify all content throughout the website, including button links, new pages and all imagery.

As all Microsites will have the same ability to modify content (though restricted) a similar system was used, this links to the main site, so that alterations to job descriptions, contact details etc, can all be made on one site the once.

To meet the E-Commerce requirements Saks had, Yuzu provided its award winning E-Commerce solution, with slight modifications to include some bespoke requirements.

The final project was to develop a site to provide E-Learning. Yuzu developed an education site that contains all course content, interactive learning and animation. Yuzu also re developed the companies Key Skill Assessment software so that it would run online. Allowing users remote access to a system that traditionally required the hire of a room and travel.
